Maine State Police say 49-year-old Ronald Dupont II of Linneus was driving a 2014 Chevy Impala west on U.S. Highway 2 just before 7:30 p.m. when the crash occurred. According to Corporal Dennis Quint who investigated the crash, Dupont said he swerved to miss a dog that came into the roadway and lost control of his car,

A witness told police that Dupont came over a hill and when he realized he was partially in the oncoming lane, he over-corrected. The car went off the right side of the road and crashed into a large group of trees, rolling over one time before coming to rest on the passenger’s side door, Quint said.

Dupont was wearing his seatbelt and was able to crawl out of the wreckage. He suffered cuts to his ears and the back of his head and was transported by ambulance to Houlton Regional Hospital.

State Police say this crash is still under investigation.
