Alex Lee LeBlanc was charged with robbing the Needs Convenience Store at 214 Mountain Road on the morning of February 7, according to Cpl. Pat Tardif of the Codiac Regional RCMP.

Police said the suspect entered the store at about 6:30 a.m. and demanded money from an employee. He was wearing a black and blue cap, a black hoodie and black pants and his face was covered with a red and white handkerchief.

The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.  No one was injured in the robbery.

LeBlanc appeared in Moncton Provincial Court on Thursday to face charges of armed robbery, wearing a disguise during the commission of an offence and breach of probation.

He has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to return to court on Friday at 1:30 p.m. for a bail hearing.
