Lady Antebellum’s Tour Bus Catches Fire En Route to ACM Awards
The local NBC affiliate reports that Scott, her husband and tour manager were traveling from Nashville to Dallas to attend the ACM Awards, which are set to take place Sunday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. They were headed westbound on I-30 in Garland, Texas when the bus blew a tire and subsequently caught fire.
Scott broke the news via Instagram, assuring fans that everyone is okay despite the scare.
"Hey guys, we had a crazy morning on the way to Dallas today. Our bus tire caught on fire and we had to evacuate very quickly," she writes. "EVERYONE IS SAFE AND SOUND. It was me, my husband, our tour manager, and driver. Thanking God for our safety and the safety of all of those who helped put this fire out and keep us safe. Love you all!!!!"
Scott's toddler daughter, Eisele, was not on the bus at the time. Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood were traveling separately.
Lady Antebellum are nominated for Vocal Group of the Year in the 2015 Academy of Country Music Awards. There's nothing to indicate that this event will keep them from attending the awards show.
