Keith Urban has released the lyric video for his latest single, "Female." Readers can press play above to watch it.

Urban's "Female" lyric video uses splashes and brush strokes of color -- white, black, purple, pink -- to highlight its lyrics. As each chorus ends, out of the patterns on the screen, a woman's eye appears.

"Sister, shoulder, daughter, lover / Healer, broken halo, mother / Nature, fire, suit of armor / Sole survivor, holy water," Urban sings in the chorus of "Female." "Secret keeper, fortune teller / Virgin Mary, scarlet letter / Technicoclor, river wild / Baby girl, woman child / Female."

Urban dropped "Female" on Nov. 8, then debuted the song that night at the 2017 CMA Awards. He heard the song for the first time in early October, just a day after the writers had penned the track.

"I got to hear it fresh out of the oven," Urban says, "and it was instant love for me."

Urban's wife, actress Nicole Kidman, as well as Nicolle Galyon, one of the song's writers, sing background vocals on "Female." Galyon wrote the song with Shane McAnally and Ross Copperman.
