When the Brummies began thinking about recording their new song, "Drive Away," the group knew they wanted someone with a delicate and entrancing voice to help them tackle the otherworldly track. And the Americana rock band, made up of Jacob Bryant, John Davidson and Trevor Davis, had just the person in mind: Kacey Musgraves.

“I was dialing in drum sounds on a 4-track, and this melody came to me. I wanted to explore it more, and it took on a life of its own. I had just finished reading [Elizabeth Gilbert’s] Big Magic and was very open to receiving inspiration. I was more aware of all of these little ideas floating around," Bryant tells Billboard about the creative process behind the song. "Once the demo was complete, I sent it over to Kacey to see if she would like to sing on it and the rest is history."

"I don't care where we go / Just come pick me up and we'll drive / Away from here / So far away from here / We'll let the world disappear / As we drive away from here."

The group's Bryant and Davidson aren't new to the country game: They helped pen the Band Perry's 2013 hit "Done." From there, Bryant and Davidson created a country duo called John & Jacob and joined Musgraves as an opening act on her Same Trailer, Different Park Tour. Eventually they added Davis to their group and became the Brummies.

"Drive Away" appears on the Brummies' newly released Eternal Reach, and is currently available on iTunes. Musgraves released her third studio album, Golden Hourat the end of March.
