Red carpet? Nah, roll out the cacti and serapes for Kacey Musgraves. The singer — who'll release her album Pageant Material on Tuesday — literally sparkled in the light pink cupcake dress she sported for her Country Jam performance on Saturday (June 20).

Musgraves band was looking very sharp, too, donning their signature Western embroidered suits as the sun beat down. It was the brunette beauty's first time playing at Country Jam, and she started her hour-long set with "Silver Lining," followed by "Stupid" and "Blowin' Smoke."

"Is it hot enough?" Musgraves asked the crowd (yes, it was). "I have SPF 30, but I don't think that's enough. I'm gonna match my dress by the time I leave here."

While her set was mostly relaxed, fans sang loudly for her current single, "Biscuits," and laughed loudly at Musgraves' witty lyrics in "The Trailer Song." The rising star also played a new tune called "High Time" off of her sophomore album.

Several audience members stood up and sang along for "Mama's Broken Heart," which was made famous by Miranda Lambert, but penned by Musgraves. Other songs in her set included "Step Off" (segueing into Bob Marley's "Three Little Birds"), "Merry Go 'Round" and the much-talked-about "Follow Your Arrow."

Everyone started cracking up when Musgraves paused and asked, "What is that crazy a-- thing over there?" as she pointed to the Redneck Slingshot, a device which propels the craziest of festival-goers into the air. Added the singer, "Whew! I don't think I'd survive."

The Texas native brought out a white feather fan for a cover of TLC's "No Scrubs" — the second such cover of the day — and wrapped her set with Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'."

And someone thinks tomatoes aren't necessary? We'd bet Musgraves would say, "Lettuce convince you otherwise."
