A Holden police officer arrested a juvenile in Orrington Sunday night after stopping him for driving and then striking a Holden Police car with the vehicle.

The initial report to the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office at around 7:44 pm Sunday was a missing juvenile at Snows Corner Road. During the investigation and search, the Penobscot Sheriff’s Office received information that the juvenile may be driving a vehicle on the Johnson Mill Road in Orrington.

Police Chief Deputy William R. Birch, Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office described the incident:

A Holden Police Officer assisting in the search located the vehicle in question. The vehicle initially pulled over for the officer. When the officer confirmed it was the juvenile driving, he attempted to box the vehicle in. The juvenile started to drive off and struck the side of the Holden Police car.

The officer was able to detain the juvenile and remove him from the vehicle, which was later reported to be stolen from Brewer. Neither the officer nor juvenile were injured. Both vehicles received minor damage.

The juvenile is being evaluated. He was taken to an area hospital with his family.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Holden Police, Maine State Police, Maine Warden Service and Orrington Fire Department.
