After 22 seasons, 977 wins and 6 CWS appearances former UMaine Black Bear Jack Leggett has been fired as Clemson baseball coach.

Leggett's Tigers had a 32-29 regular season and lost two straight at the Fullerton NCAA regional.

Leggett, now 61-years-old, played baseball and football at UMaine from 1973 to 1976. He captained the UM baseball team to the CWS in 1976 and was an All Yankee Conference football defensive back and kicker. His 52-yard field goal still stands in the UMaine record book.

He coached at Vermont and Western Carolina before arriving at Clemson. In total, Leggett has over 1,300 college wins as head coach.
