Police said, they received a call shortly after 5:15 p.m. that a 39-year-old man from Moncton had been shot near the Geary Speedway. The man was in a portable camper trailer at the time of the incident and was badly injured.

While the injuries were not life threatening, they were life changing for the victim, according to the police.

The investigation has led police to believe that a small group of people were doing target practice close to the camping site at the Speedway and a bullet went through the camper striking the victim. Police believe that there are people that know what happened and who might be responsible for the shooting, said police.
