The Husson men's basketball team left little doubt who the #1 seed is for the upcoming North Atlantic Conference tournament. An 85-59 pounding of #2 Castleton Saturday afternoon gives the Eagles the top spot with one week to play in the regular season.

The Eagles improve to 14-2 in NAC play, 17-6 overall. The Spartans are now 10-6 and 15-7.

Raheem Anderson scored 16 points in the first seven minutes of the game as Husson bolted out to a 23-7 start. It never got closer.

Anderson finished with 24 points. Eli Itkin had 16.

The Eagles were 15-for-30 (50%) from the three point line and shot 45% from elsewhere on the floor.

The Husson women's team had the same chance to wrap up a #1 seed but fell to Castleton 59-54. The Eagles lead in the NAC is down to one game over the Spartans.

Castleton surged in the third quarter, outscoring Husson 25-10 to take a five point lead heading into the fourth quarter.

The Spartans dialed up the defense down the stretch and hit clutch free throws to get the win.

Chandler Guerrette had 21 points and Kenzie Worcester had 18 to lead Husson.

Amanda Beatty led the Spartans with 24.

Heading into the final week of the regular season Husson is 14-2 in the NAC (18-4 overall). Castleton is 13-3 NAC (15-8 overall).
