16 high school soccer teams started the day in contention for regional titles and when the dust had settled 8 teams advance to state championship Saturday.

CLASS A NORTH: GIRLS

FINAL  Camden Hills 3   Bangor 2

After dominating play for most of the game but trailing 2-1, the Camden WIndjammers scored twice in 30-seconds to comeback and win the Class A title 3-2. Kristina Kelly scored the game tying goal with 3:49 to play. Isabelle Gutheinz scored the winnner at 3:10.

CLASS B NORTH: GIRLS

FINAL   Waterville  1  Hermon 0

Waterville and Hermon were scoreless in the first half and into the 62nd minute when Sadie Garling scored the eventual game winner.  The Panthers would hold on to take down the top-seeded Hawks and secure the berth in the state title game on Saturday.

CLASS C NORTH: GIRLS

FINAL   Orono 2    Houlton 1

All three goals in this championship were scored in the second half as the Red Riots got things started with a Brinsley Chasse goal.  Kolleen Bouchard would score the equalizer in the contest by way of a penalty kick, before Becky Lopez-Anido put home the game winner with just over 26 minutes remaining.

CLASS D NORTH: GIRLS

FINAL  Ashland 3   Madawaska 2

Ashland beat Madawaska by a score of 3-2 to secure another North Region championship.  The Hornets will play Richmond in the title game once more, the third straight time for this match-up in Class D.

CLASS A NORTH: BOYS

FINAL  Bangor 3   Camden Hills 1

Garth Berenyi, Tom Szewczyk and Kyle Jeffrey scored goals for the Rams to win this one 3-1. The #2 Rams take their 15-1-1 record to state championship Saturday where they will play Gorham.

CLASS B NORTH: BOYS

FINAL   Winslow 3    John Bapst 1

John Bapst got on the board scoring the opening minutes of the contest by a Paul Branch penalty kick goal.  Winslow would answer back with three goals, two by Jake Warn in the first half, to secure the victory and championship for the Black Raiders.  Warn ended the North Region playoffs with six goals.

CLASS C NORTH: BOYS

FINAL   Washington Academy 7   GSA 3

CLASS D NORTH: BOYS

FINAL   Bangor Christian  3  Fort Fairfield 0

Bangor Christian put up a three spot on top--ranked fort Fairfield and pitched a clean sheet on the road to gain victory.  They will now head to the state title game on Saturday to try and bring some hardware back to campus.
