If you noticed a convoy of Military Police, U.S. Customs & Border Protection and members of the Houlton Police Department on the road today- don't be alarmed- they were only transporting a special serum that could potentially save the lives of thousands after a catastrophic outbreak of a deadly virus...

... Sort of...

As if it were lifted from a comic book or hit TV show an exercise between the 488th Military Police Company, U.S. Customs & Border Protection and HPD was carried out to see how well these organizations work together in case of an emergency.

The scenario: The Governor of Maine has quarantined Houlton due to the outbreak of a deadly disease. Emergency services had to make sure a serum could make it from the Houlton International Airport all the way to a 'local hospital'- or in this case- the rec center.

Actors were on hand to play bad guys and throw the agencies off their game. The drill was played out over and over again- each time with a different obstacle they had to face.

According to the Houlton Police Department's Chief, Butch Asselin, the exercise was a success- everyone played there part and he can't wait to do it again next year.
