A Bangor man who was arrested for alleging stealing a vehicle from a Houlton business is facing numerous charges, including aggravated drug trafficking.

Houlton Police Department responded Saturday evening to a report of a Public Works vehicle being operated erratically in the parking lot of Hogan Tire. Officers made contact with two males and conducted an investigation on scene, according to Police Chief Tim DeLuca.

Police were able to determine that one of the men had stolen the vehicle left at Hogan Tire for service and was in possession of illicit drugs. The male subject was identified as 30-year-old Jared Jameson of Bangor. Officers said there was no damage done to the Public Works vehicle.

Jameson was charged with Theft by unauthorized use of property, possession heroin, methamphetamine, Vicodin and other drugs, as well as one count of aggravated trafficking of schedule W drugs.

Field sobriety tests showed Jameson was not impaired, DeLuca said.

Jameson was transported to The Aroostook County Jail and booked. The other man was released with no charges filed against him.
