Old Town, Texas Advance To Semifinals

The semifinals for the Senior League World Series are now set and they include Old Town who beat Saipan on Wednesday as well as the defending champions from Texas.The semifinals get underway today at 5pm with Pennsylvania playing Texas followed by Old Town vs. Ohio at 8pm. Defending Champs Advance To Final Four

Texas is heading to the semis of the SLWS for the second straight year after defeating Virginia, 4-2.

Jared Burch was 2-for-3 with a run scored and pitcher Jimmy Winston drove in two crucial runs to help his own cause. On the mound, Winston recorded a tournament-high, 10 strikeouts en route to victory.

Carson Arquin recorded his team's only RBI and pitched 1.1 innings in relief. Starter, Anthony Stehlin, took the loss, allowing three runs in 5.2 innings of work.

Virginia exits the tournament with a record of 1-2.

Hosts Punch Ticket To Semis As Bats Comes Alive

Old Town booked a spot in Thursday's semi-final behind a 15-hit attack, beating Saipan, 11-8.

T.J. Crawford smacked a pair of triples, Ryan Hoogterp went 3-for-4 with 2-RBI, and Kaleb Gifford added three hits and four RBI as the hosts won their second game of the tournament.

Ethan Stoddard earned the win throwing two scoreless innings, while Austin Sheehan closed the game, pitching the final 1.1 frames. Sheehan added a 3-for-4 night at the plate and drove in a pair of runs.

Old Town's bats bailed out their defensive play, as the hosts committed six errors in the field.

Saipan was led by Lorenzo Sebaklim, who went 3-for-3 an RBI and a run scored.

Starting pitcher, Ethan Babauta, was roughed up in his 2.2 innings of work, conceding 10 hits, eight runs, and six walks to Old Town hitters.

Saipan finishes the tournament with a record of 2-2. Both the team's victories came against Italy, while both their losses came against Old Town.

Old Town is now set for a rematch with Ohio, who beat the hosts 13-2 on Tuesday. The Old Town vs. Ohio semi-final will take place Thursday, (8/6) at 8 p.m. with live coverage on 92.9 FM and streaming on 929theticket.com.

Arizona Earns Walk Off Win In Extras

A rough tournament had a bright ending for Arizona, who beat Italy, 6-5 in eight innings in Wednesday's second consolation game.

Marcel Bachelier delivered the game winning hit for the U.S. West reps and went 3-for-5 with 2-RBI in the game. Kevin Jimenez earned the win by tossing the final three innings and added an RBI triple at the plate.

Gabriele Vincenti went 2-for-4 with 3-RBI in the losing effort for Italy. Starting pitcher, Andrea Campagna, pitched into extra innings, lasting 7.1 frames before leaving due to the pitch count ceiling. Campagna allowed three runs and did not factor in the decision, with the loss charged to Leonardo Lanzi.

Italy finishes the tournament with a record of 1-3. Arizona finishes with a record of 1-2.

Curacao Closes Play With Consolation Win

Curacao closed the book on their 2015 SLWS campaign with a 6-1 win over Canada in Wednesday's consolation game.

Siamari Boekhoudt allowed one hit, one run, and struck out a pair in five innings of work to earn the victory. Ralison Bentura set the table for Curacao's lineup, going 2-for-4 with 2-RBI from the lead off spot.

After loses to Pennsylvania and Virginia eliminated Curacao from contention, the team from Latin America finishes their run in Bangor with a record of 2-2.

Canada's lone hit in the contest came from Stefan Atkinson, as team Canada ends the week with a record of 0-3.
