Hollis Woman Was Shot By Man Who Came To Her Aid
A Hollis woman was shot several times by a man who came to her rescue when she was assaulted by her boyfriend.
The Portland Press Herald reports the incident happened outside Andria Richardson's River Road home. Her boyfriend, 30-year-old Ryan Gilliken of Hollis allegedly assaulted Richardson at around 8:30 Tuesday night. Her three young children were home at the time.
30-year-old Joshua Weldon tried to stop the assault and was also attacked by Gilliken. He fired his gun several times, but somehow shot Richardson five times in the leg and stomach. No charges have been filed against Weldon while police investigate. Gilliken is charged with Domestic Violence Assault and for simple assault for the attack on Weldon.
Richardson underwent surgery and is expected to recover. Her children are staying with relatives.
