Here Are The Top 10 Books Parents Wanted Removed From the Library System

It's a good thing when parents are paying attention to their children, especially the kind of media they are consuming in their lives. Some are just not appropriate.

Not long ago, a survey was done to find out what books parents thought was not good reading material for their kids and wanted the subject matter removed from the public libraries.

You could find many of these books in the Juvenile Fiction Section of the library.

"This One Summer" by Mariko Tamaki. Reasoning - Includes LGBT, drug use, and profanity, and considered sexually explicit with mature themes. The book also has connections with Common Core.
"Drama" by Raina Telgemeir - Includes LGBT characters, sexually explicit, and considered to have an offensive political viewpoint.
"George" by Alex Gino - Includes a transgender child, and the sexuality was not appropriate at elementary levels.
"I Am Jazz" by Jessica Herthel and Jazz Jennings - Portrays a transgender child, language, sex education, and offensive viewpoints.
"Two Boys Kissing" by David Levithan - Includes two boys kissing on the cover, and has sexually explicit LGBT content.
"Looking for Alaska" by John Green - Includes sexually explicit scene that may lead a student to sexual experimentation.
"Big Hard Sex Criminals" by Matt Fraction and Illustrated by Chip Zdarsky - Includes sexually explicit images and was found in the Comics & Graphic Novels section.
"Make Something Up: Stories You Can't Unread" by Chuck Palahniuk - Includes profanity, sexual explicitness, and being disgusting and all around offensive.
"Little Bill" by Bill Cosby - Challenged because of sexual allegations against the author.
"Eleanor & Park" by Rainbow Rowell - Includes offensive language.
