Heating Oil Prices in Maine Down Nearly a Dollar Since February
With winter unleashing its full fury this week, it's good to know that home heating oil prices are still going down.
The Governor’s Energy Office weekly heating fuel price survey on Monday found the current statewide average cash price for No. 2 heating oil was $2.93 per gallon, a drop of six cents in the past week.
The average statewide price for kerosene, $3.53 per gallon, was also six cents lower than last week. Propane prices have also declined this week by five cents to an average of $2.78 a gallon.
Heating oil prices in Maine are about 70 cents per gallon lower now than they were a year ago, and 96 cents lower than last winter's peak price of $3.89 in February 2014.
