Northeastern's Matt Benning scored an overtime goal to give the Huskies a 3-2 win over UMaine in game one of the best-of-three Hockey East playoff series.

The goal came at the 4:41 mark of OT, completing a big comeback for the Huskies.

The Black Bears, who lost twice to Northeastern last weekend, grabbed a 2-0 first period lead on goals by Cam Brown and Andrew Tegeler.

The Huskies got one back in the second period and then tied it 2-2 on a powerplay goal in the third period by Kevin Roy.

Maine goalie Rob McGovern stopped 29 shots. Huskies goalie Ryan Ruck made 19 saves.

Game two of the series is Saturday night in Boston.
