The governor has no comment…at least for three of Maine’s daily papers.

According to a spokesperson for Gov. Paul Lepage, the administration will no longer comment on stories published in the Portland Press Herald, the Kennebec Journal and the Morning Sentinel. All of these publications are controlled by MaineToday Media.

This media blacklisting comes just a week following a series of articles that seemed to dig under the finger nails of LePage’s chief environmental administrator by accusing her of benefiting financially from lobbying efforts in the private sector.

Members of the press say they will continue to publish “probing journalism on behalf of citizens” regardless if the administration chooses to comment.
