After their steady upward climb, gas prices around the region have started to come back down a little.

As of Monday, website GasBuddy.com shows that prices at the pump have fallen slightly across New England and in New Brunswick.

Here in Maine, prices have fallen 1.2 cents from last week''s average down to $2.38 a gallon. Vermont's gas prices came down 2.1 cents to $2.41 a gallon. Prices in New Hampshire held steady at last week's price of $2.33 a gallon.

Motorists in New Brunswick got a bit of a break as their price at the pump fell 3 cents to a maximum price of $1.12 a litre.

Back here in the States, the national average was $2.38 a gallon, a decrease of 3.7 cents from the previous week. That's still up 5.1 cents up in the past month and 15.9 cents more expensive than at this same time last year.
