Gas Prices Decline Somewhat Around New England
Prices at the pump have gone down slightly in New England.
According to the survey by GasBuddy.com, the average price of gasoline in Maine went down 4.3 cents from a week ago to an average $2.89 a gallon. In Presque Isle, most gas outlets Monday morning were showing a price of $3.00 a gallon, a drop from $3.04 last week.
New Hampshire gas prices have gone down 2.5 cents to an average of $2.87. In neighboring Vermont, the average price per gallon was $2.93 a gallon, a decline of 1.3 cents.
Gas prices across the nation averaged $2.91 a gallon. That's an increase of 4.8 cents a gallon from a month ago and 58.5 cents a gallon more expensive than at this time last year.
