Motorists are continuing to see a rise in gas prices around New England.

The price at the pump here in Maine, according to GasBuddy.com, has gone up 4 cents a gallon to an average price of $2.61 a gallon. Prices in Presque Isle as of Monday morning were $2.78 a gallon at most stations.

Elsewhere around the region, New Hampshire's pump prices rose 3.1 cents to an average of $2.53 a gallon. And Vermont saw a 2.8 cent a gallon rise in its prices to $2.63 a gallon.

Meanwhile, the price of gas nationwide last week went up 3 cents to an average $2.57 a gallon, which is 8.8 cents a gallon higher than last month and 30.7 cents a gallon higher than a year ago.
