Gas prices around the New England area are coming down a little.

Here in Maine, according to the latest GasBuddy.com survey, prices at the pump have fallen off 3.1 cents from last week to an average $2.83 a gallon. In Presque Isle, as of Monday morning, the price at most stations was $2.99.

New Hampshire saw gas prices drop a penny to $2.78 a gallon. In Vermont, gas fell almost two cents to $2.87 a gallon.

The national average fell nearly five cents a gallon in the past week to $2.83 a gallon. That's 39.6 cents a gallon higher than at this time last year.7
