Gas Prices Back on the Upward Trend
Prices at the pumps around New England have gone up a little bit in the past week.
According to the latest survey by GasBuddy.com, the average price of a gallon of gas statewide here in Maine, rose a little more than a penny from last week's price of $2.35 a gallon to $2.36. Star City pump prices were more than 20 cents above the state average, at $2.58 a gallon Monday morning.
Elsewhere around New England, New Hampshire's statewide average gas prices remained unchanged at $2,28 a gallon. And Vermont saw a 1.3 cents per gallon increase over last week in its gas prices.
The national average went up by 3.9 cents to $2.36 a gallon over the previous week. That was a rise of 6 cents in the last month and a jump of 14.4 cents from one year ago.
