The National Weather Service has issued a freeze watch in Aroostook County for early Saturday morning, with temperature expected to dip below the freezing mark in some areas.

According to the weather service, the freeze watch extends from Madawaska in the north to as far south as Sherman. We can expect a heavy frost to develop after midnight in many areas, having a significant impact on some crops.

Meanwhile, Environment Canada has issued a frost advisory for Carleton, Victoria and Madawaska Counties, with lows near the freezing mark across western New Brunswick.

The last time the temperature dropped below freezing at Caribou was exactly four months ago on May 13, when the overnight low fell to 30°F.
