Fredericton Fire Leaves at Least Nine Homeless [VIDEO]
At least nine people are temporarily homeless after fire destroyed a Fredericton home and caused significant damage to a second house.
Fredericton Fire Department platoon captain Jeff Mills says firefighters were called to a building fire on Charlotte Street around 1 a.m. today.
Mills says the three-storey home was fully involved with flames reaching up to 12 metres high when crews arrived.

Mills says high winds spread flames to a neighbouring three-storey home on York Street.
Mills says the Charlotte Street home was destroyed and the York Street residence sustained significant smoke, fire, and water damage.
The Canadian Red Cross says three tenants were checked at hospital for minor smoke inhalation and later released.
One of the buildings had to be demolished by an excavator because it posed a threat of collapsing. A detached garage housing a car and boat was also destroyed.
