Four People Injured in Van Buren Collision
Four people were injured Tuesday in a head-on collision between an SUV and a passenger car on U.S. Route 1 in Van Buren.
Van Buren Police, Van Buren Fire Department, Van Buren Ambulance and Caribou Fire and Ambulance responded to the crash shortly before noon.
Emergency personnel at the scene said there were four adults involved, a man and woman in each vehicle.
The Van Buren Police Department reported on its Facebook page that firefighters had to use the Jaws of Life to free one of the injured from the wreckage.
One of the victims was being treated locally and three people were taken by Lifeflight to a Bangor hospital, the post stated. The three were reported to be in critical but stable condition.
The victims of the crash were not identified. We’ll have more information as it becomes available.
