State Police say a 2007 Pontiac Grand Am being driven by 18-year-old Alyssa Hewitt of Presque Isle was traveling south on Route 1 just before 7 p.m., and had slowed to make a left hand turn into a driveway.

At the same time, a 2010 Ford sedan driven by 19-year-old Conor Todd of Mars Hill was also traveling south a few vehicles behind the Grand Am. State Police say there was considerable blowing snow and cross winds at the time that severely impacted visibility.

Todd's car struck the driver's side of the Grand Am as it was turning, causing serious damage to both vehicles, according to Sgt. Chad Fuller.

Hewitt and three female passengers were all transported to The Aroostook Medical Center in Presque Isle for treatment of minor injuries. Police say Todd was not injured.

Maine State Trooper Adam Stoutamyer investigated the crash. Crown Ambulance , Mars Hill Fire Department, Aroostook County Sheriff's Office and U.S. Border Patrol also responded to the scene.
