It was a good news bad news day for former University of Maine football players as some were able to survive final roster cuts while others were sent packing.Mike Devito who is coming back from a season ending injury will be back with the Kansas City Chiefs. Reports from training camp say he has been impressive through the preseason.

The Buffalo Bills have decided to keep 5 tight ends which means Enfield's Matt Mulligan has a spot to open the season. Mulligan played 3 seasons for new Bills head coach Rex Ryan with the Jets and was one of the first free agents signed when Ryan got the job.

A few other former Bears are now looking for jobs as the Cleveland Browns have cut corner back Kendall James.

After spending last season on the Green Bay practice squad, the Packers have decided to cut ties with tight end Justin Perillo. In the preseason opener against the Patriots Perillo suffered a concussion which seemed to slow his progress during the rest of training camp.

Despite 5 catches in the preseason finale, Damarr Aultman is looking for a new team after the Miami Dolphins released the wide receiver on the final day of cuts.
