Police say 50-year-old William Sullivan of Caribou was driving a 1997 Chevy Impala south on the Parsons Road around 5:17 PM.  The preliminary investigation shows that Sullivan failed to stop at the stop sign and struck a 2007 Mitsubishi on Connector Road, driven by 15-year-old Brandon Collins of Mapleton. Both cars ended up at the mouth of Dragon Drive.

Police identified the passengers in Sullivan’s vehicle as 16-year-old Christopher Knight and 19-year-old Brianna Michaud, both of Caribou. 39-year-old Susan Collins of Mapleton was a passenger in the other car.

All five were taken to The Aroostook Medical Center with what were believed to be non-life threatening injuries. Everyone was wearing seat belts.

Presque Isle Police pointed out that several people stopped and offered whatever assistance they could directly after the crash—many were medical professionals.

The Presque Isle Fire Department and Rescue Unit, Crown Ambulance, and Caribou Fire & Ambulance all assisted at the scene.

Presque Isle Police officers Brian McQuarrie and Kevin Reed investigated the accident.

Both cars were demolished.
