First baby of 2014 born at TAMC to Mapleton Couple
Aroostook County – The first baby of the New Year born at TAMC was welcomed into the world on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 2:55 p.m. Carly Jacqueline Cole weighed in at 8 pounds, 12 ounces and measured 21 inches long.
Cole is the third child born to Ashley and Jonathan Cole of Mapleton. Her parents, four-year-old big brother Levi, and three-year-old big sister Addison are looking forward to welcoming her home upon her release from the Women and Children’s Unit at TAMC’s A.R. Gould Memorial Hospital in Presque Isle.
“We are so thankful for Carly’s Health and that she finally came,” said mom Ashley. “We are just so thrilled and touched by the wonderful gifts and all of the excitement. Her siblings have been so excited and are just thrilled they have a baby sister!”
TAMC’s first baby of 2014 was supposed to be closer to a Christmas miracle. Carly was originally due to arrive in the world on December 26th.
“Our first and second child both came early – so we were thinking we’d have Carly as an early Christmas present. Then, when Christmas came and went, we thought for certain we’d have her by the New Year,” said Jonathan Cole. “I guess she had her own timetable planned.”
Carly was delivered by TAMC Certified Nurse Midwife Nancy Escobar, MSN, CNM. Assisting in the delivery were Deirdre Clark, RN, labor and delivery nurse, and Leslie Wheaton, RN, nursery nurse.
Carly Jacqueline Cole’s maternal grandparents are Jacqueline and Taylor Putnam, Sr. of Mapleton. Her paternal grandparents are Oland and Patricia Cole of Winn.
