Fire Chief Ricky Nicholson said firefighters responded shortly before 8 a.m. to the blaze just off the Bull Road in Woodstock.  Nicholson said an old barn that housed a lumber mill at 26 O'Neill Road was fully engulfed when crews arrived.

Seventeen members of the Woodstock Fire Department confronted intense flames and heavy smoke, fueled by the large amount of lumber stored in the building.  Crews remained on scene well into the afternoon Friday and were able to keep the massive fire from spreading to a nearby house.

There's no word yet on what may have caused the blaze.  Chief Nicholson said no one was injured. The barn and mill were a total loss.
