The RCMP Major Crime Unit is conducting a homicide investigation into the death of an 18-year-old man whose body was discovered after a house fire in Moncton on Thursday.


Police are asking the public for help with the investigation.

Moncton firefighters discovered the body of a young man after extinguishing an early morning fire at a residence on Sumac Street. The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Baylee Wylie.

“Police have enough evidence to treat the investigation as a homicide,” said Sgt. André Pepin of the Codiac Regional RCMP. "The investigation is now focusing on the circumstances surrounding his death.”
