A family of four was displaced by an overnight fire that gutted their mobile home on Route 565 in Holmesville, New Brunswick.

Bath Fire Chief Stephen Armour said the fire was reported at 12:05 a.m.Tuesday. The couple woke up to smoke and made it out safely, Armour said. The two children were not home at the time.

About 30 firefighters from the Bath and Florenceville-Bristol Fire Departments responded to the blaze. Crews remained on scene until around 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Armour said the home was a complete loss.  The cause is still under investigation.

Canadian Red Cross spokesman Dan Bedell said disaster volunteers are assisting the family with emergency lodging and food while they await an assessment from insurers.
