Barbara Landry of Mount Chase was driving her 2016 Ford Escape north on the Shin Pond Road shortly after 8 p.m. Sunday. Trooper Dennis Quint said a large tree had fallen due to high winds in the area and it was blocking the entire roadway. Landry did not see the tree in the road and struck it head-on, causing extensive damage to her vehicle.

Corp. Quint said Landry complained of back pain but refused an ambulance. She stated she would seek medical treatment if she felt it was necessary.
