A 54-year-old Fairfield man received a sentence Wednesday for time served for illegally possessing firearms and ammunition.

Steven Lemieux was also fined $5,000. He was convicted on June 15th and has been in custody since May 14th.

Court records and evidence revealed:

Lemieux possessed seven firearms and 784 rounds of ammunition.  He was prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition due to a 2006 federal felony conviction for providing false information to a federal firearm licensee.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives conducted the investigation along with the Fairfield Police Department.
