Bath, Maine has seen many a sea captain and crew docking on it's shores since the earliest history of the city. The City of Ships is loaded with nautical folklore and stories of salty sailors. One of the city's oldest and most famous cemeteries, Oak Grove Cemetery, is the final resting place of these famed captains and shipbuilders. The Maine Maritime Museum and Maine's Pumpkin Trail welcome you to explore the gravestones and learn about the lives of these seafaring folk.

Meet at the museum and ride the trolley to Oak Grove Cemetery. The cemetery contains the most varied collections of memorial art in Bath and is a virtual who’s who of historic maritime families. The Lady in the Red Cloak will share the fascinating history of these shipbuilding competitors, and explain the symbolism of these amazingly crafted memorials.

Tours of Oak Grove Cemetery will be held on Saturday, October 22 and 29. Seating is limited so reservations are suggested.
