The University of Maine at Presque Isle honored several employees for their years of service during the annual Employee Recognition reception.

Twenty-three employees were recognized for their combined 260 years of service to the University on May 25.

Recognized for 35 years of service was Florence Soucie, Administrative Specialist with the Housing and Residence Life Office.

Recognized for 25 years of service was Kim-Anne Perkins, Professor of Social Work.

Recognized for 20 years of service was Linda Hickman, Administrative Specialist at the Houlton Higher Education Center.

Recognized for 15 years of service were Patti Hale, Administrative Specialist with the Student Financial Services Office; Joseph Moir, Mechanical Manager with Facilities Management; David Putnam, archaeologist/climate scientist and faculty member; and Richard Zuras, Associate Professor of English.

Recognized for 10 years of service were Mary Kate Barbosa, Director of Student Support Services; Michelle Cofske, Distance Education Tech with the Houlton Higher Education Center; Richard Gardiner, Director of Gentile Hall; Shara Gardner, Professional Advisor with the Academic Advising Office; Lynnelle Lavway, Assistant Bursar with the Student Financial Services Office; Carol McGlinn, Assistant Director of TRIO College Access Services; Jack Stewart, Director of Student Teaching and Field Experience; and Kevin Kilcollins, IT Specialist with the IT Services Office.

Recognized for 5 years of service were Charlotte Durr, TRIO College Access Advisor for Talent Search; Alyre Levesque, Jr., Building and Grounds Mechanics and Trade Worker with Facilities Management; Nancy Nichols, Administrative Specialist in the Admissions Office; Vanessa Pearson, Director for Student Success in the Academic and Student Affairs Office; Christopher Rolon, Director and Assistant Professor of the Physical Therapist Assistant Program; Mark Woodman, Building and Grounds Maintenance Worker with Facilities Management; Hyrum Benson, Assistant Professor of Fine Art; and Heather Sincavage, Assistant Professor of Fine Art and Reed Art Gallery Director.

During the Recognition Reception, officials also honored retiree Dick Harrison, former Coordinator of Graphics and Photography.

We owe a great deal of thanks to our dedicated and hard-working faculty and staff, as well as to our retiring employee--they have given many years of service, and, in some cases, the majority of their careers, to our campus,” UMPI President Linda Schott said. “Our employees work very hard every day to keep our campus running smoothly and efficiently. Due to their efforts, our campus community is stronger and our students are well served.”
