Edmundston Youths Charged in Armed Robbery Plot

Edmundston Police have arrested two teens for conspiring to rob the Esso gas bar in Saint-Basile last fall.

Police say the boys had planned to steal cash deposit money on October 13 by setting up an armed robbery scenario. Charges of theft under $5,000 and conspiracy to commit theft were filed this week in Edmundston.  The investigation showed that the planned armed robbery never occurred.

The two boys were released under certain conditions and will appear again before the court of justice for adolescents.  One teen is scheduled to be in court on March 26 and the other on April 9. Because they are minors, their names will not be released.
