Edmundston Man Pleads Guilty To Fraud & Forgery
An Edmundston man pleaded guilty in Edmundston Provincial Court on Tuesday to fraud and forgery charges stemming from allegations dating back to 2012.
According to police, Stephane Valcourt, 44, pleaded guilty to one count of fraud over $5,000 and one count of forgery in a case that involved ten victims.
The New Brunswick RCMP’s Financial Crime Unit received a complaint in December 2014 from the Financial and Consumer Services Commission alleging that between January 2012 and December 2014.
Valcourt had defrauded multiple victims by signing them up for life insurance and then keeping their premium payments. He also forged some life insurance documents, police said
Valcourt is expected back in Edmundston Provincial Court on January 18, 2016 for sentencing.
