Early November Snowstorm Expected to Dump Lots of Snow on the County & Western New Brunswick
A winter storm warning has been issued for Aroostook County and Western New Brunswick beginning Saturday evening, as the first major snowstorm of the season makes its way north.
According to the National Weather Service and Environment Canada, the first wave of precipitation is expected to arrive this evening, beginning with rain and changing over to snow. More significant precipitation will arrive overnight and continue through Sunday. Expect strong wind along with snow, heavy at times.
Storm totals of 7 to 14 inches of snow are likely by Sunday night with highest amounts expected in Southeastern Aroostook County and Carleton County.
The heavy wet snow along with strong winds will result in very difficult travel conditions. In addition, since the snow will be wet in nature, this will lead to significant build up on trees and power lines resulting in scattered to numerous power outages.
