Early Morning Fire Destroys a Carleton County Potato House
A fire early Saturday morning destroyed a potato house and a shed in Upper Knoxford, New Brunswick, near the U.S. border.
The Centreville Volunteer Fire Department responded to the blaze on Route 560 at around 3:30 a.m.
Firefighters arrived to find a potato barn and a shed fully engulfed in flames. Centreville called for mutual aid from Florenceville-Bristol and Lakeville Fire departments. Crews were able to keep the fire from spreading to a nearby house.
The two structures were a total loss. The cause of the fires remains under investigation. We’ll have more details as they become available.
