A Saint-Quentin, N.B. man was arrested on Route 17 near Saint-Leonard, N.B. for impaired driving and going 70 km/h over the posted speed limit last Friday evening.

According to Mounties, members of the New Brunswick RCMP's Tactical Traffic Enforcement Unit (TTEU) stopped the 34-year old man for driving 70 km/h (43 m/h) over the speed limit around 11 p.m. on Friday, November 23.

It was then that law enforcement officers noticed that the driver showed signs of impairment and arrested him at the scene.

The man, whose name was not released, had his license suspended for 90 days and his car impounded for 60 days.

The driver was released on a promise to appear in Edmundston Provincial Court on March 19, 2019, to face impaired driving charges.
