Grayson Downing scored a hat trick for New Hampshire preventing a University of Maine weekend sweep and giving the Wildcats a 7-4 win in Portland.Just as they did on Friday night UNH jumped out to a 2-0 lead, this time the Bears never could hold the lead which they had once. Blaine Byron's second goal of the game gave UMaine a 4-3 lead going into the locker room after two periods.

Downing would tie the game up with his first goal just :51 seconds into the third and eventually add two more including an empty netter.

The loss drops the Bears record to 4-13-1 on the season. A long break awaits UMaine as they don't play again until January 2 when they host Canisius for a weekend series at Alfond Arena.
