Dooryard Arts Festival Woodstock Seeking Artist Works

Dooryard Arts Festival in Woodstock, New Brunswick is looking for visual artists to show their works at this year's festival, scheduled for July 21-23. An honorarium is paid to those who are selected. Organisers say the deadline to apply has been extended to April 7th.

Dooryard Arts Festival is four days of music, art, theatre, stories, workshops and an open-air market in downtown Woodstock, New Brunswick.

The Dooryard Arts Festival is the flagship annual summer event of the River Valley Arts Alliance, a non-profit organization that works to increase awareness of and access to arts and culture in the upper St. John River Valley.

The festival organisers describe the experience like this:  "We tell stories. We zig when others zag. We build community by gathering an unexpected group of people in a small place at the same time. We’re a festival organized by artists, musicians, and arts enthusiasts who believe diversity is beautiful and that demographic targeting is overrated. We act out. We sing together. We dance, rain or shine."

The first meeting of the Dooryard Arts Festival 2016 Committee is scheduled for April 3rd at 7 pm at Hayward House  at 705 Main Street in Woodstock. Members of the local and surrounding community are welcomed to attend.
