The Sun Journal is reporting that Disney is giving the city of Lewiston thirty thousand dollars for a new playground in town!

The new fully-accessible playground in Marcotte Park will be funded in part by the movie and theme park giant, and will be the first accessible playground project in the state of Maine. The project has been in the works for a few years, and it should be completed this fall.

The funding comes from Disney as part of their partnership with the National Recreation & Park Association, and a shared goal of providing more than a million American children with "greater access to play."

The project is called "Lewiston's Inclusive Playground," and it also enjoys funding from several other community sources like Shane’s Inspiration and other local sources.
