Trace Adkins enjoyed a leisurely stroll through Home Depot over the weekend and shared the moment with fans on Instagram, but there was one thing missing: his long hair!

Adkins was casually dressed in black pants, a blue T-shirt, ball cap and sneakers, but there was no ponytail poking out from beneath his cap. "Just trying to enjoy a peaceful moment in @homedepot. #sundayfunday," the "Watered Down" singer writes. But fans were more interested in the obvious, asking, "Why did you cut your hair?"

An inquiry to Adkins' representatives was returned quickly — the star has not chopped his long locks. "Manager says he did not cut. Must be tucked," a rep confirms to Taste of Country. Perhaps he was just trying to avoid being recognized?

7 Dramatic Hair Changes That Actually Did Happen

In the video, Adkins cruises the aisles of the home repair store as he admires fake bark wood and zip tape. In good spirits, the singer is all smiles as the camera zooms in on him.

Earlier this year, Adkins released "Watered Down," the first single from his new album Something’s Going On. At an industry event in Nashville where he performed the new song live, Adkins admitted that upon first hearing "Watered Down," he instantly realized that it's his "current state in a nutshell; that’s where I’m at right now.'”

“At some point, you face the reality that you have to temper your vices, you have to calm your ship down,” Adkins says. “And I’m still crazy, but I’m just going to temper it a little bit, and that’s what this song said.”
