NFL veteran defensive lineman and former UMaine Black Bear MIke DeVito is calling it a career. DeVito announced his retirement from the NFL on twitter today.

DeVito came to UMaine from Massachusetts and captained the Black Bear football team in his senior year in 2006. He had 112 career tackles while at Maine.

DeVito signed with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2007 and played with the Jets for six years.

He joined the Kansas City Chiefs in 2013 and played the past three seasons.

DeVito played in 110 NFL games and was in on 250 tackles.
