Ultimate Fighting Championship President and Hermon High School graduate Dana White was on hand at the Republican National Convention on Wednesday night and gave a speech as part of the evening.

White recalled how Donald Trump gave the UFC a shot when he and Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta initially bought the promotion in 2001.  He detailed how the views of Mixed Martial Arts at the time was that of a 'blood sport' and Trump was one of the only people to allow events to be held in his casinos.

The UFC has been in the news in recent weeks after Zuffa, LLC announced the sale of the promotion to WME last week.  White is reported to be staying on as the President and will be part of a filming of his reality TV show 'Looking For A Fight' in Bangor on August 5th.
