James Bellanceau, 43, was arrested at his apartment at 113 Walnut Street in Lewiston.

According to Public Safety from Spokesman Steve McCausland, Bellanceau is wanted back in Indiana for felony child non-support.

He was taken to the Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn and is likely to face a judge either Friday or Monday, which will begin his extradition proceedings leading to his return to Indiana.

Bellanceau has lived in Lewiston since 2007 and Indiana child support officials say he has never sent any money back to his four children, who live with their mother in Fremont, IN.

The amount of child support he now owes is $50,693.

Indiana authorities tracked Bellanceau to Lewiston in recent months and contacted Maine State Police to take enforcement action.

Bellanceau surrendered to Troopers Elgin Physic and Jason Wing without incident.
